Remove the old coatings and oxide layers from your components by chemical and mechanical methods. Some of our customers like us to remove the old plating before they carry out repairs. Dent removal, brazing and welding is much easier on clean components.

First Stage in Reworking of your Parts

  • Removal of grease, dirt, paint etc. by degreasing plant
  • Rust and oxide is removed by fine glass bead blasting. This operation does minimal surface damage, but removes all oxide from rust pits and corners.
  • Remove old chrome coasting in a caustic solution with electric current
  • Remove nickel coating in acid solution on non-ferrous items and alkaline solution for ferrous components.
Zinc plating parts are stripped in 10%-15% sulphuric acid

Your component is now clean and ready for polishing and plating.
